Recognized as "the world's fastest man," Bolt actively participated in promoting Nissan's brand awareness as part of the Nissan Global Brand Campaign, which commenced in April 2012 and has since been active globally.
Usain Bolt, who was already a proud owner of a GT-R, had a special affinity for the "Bolt Gold" GT-R, a one-of-a-kind model revealed as the grand prize in a global online charity auction in late 2012. The auction's proceeds went to the Usain Bolt Foundation.
The customized Gold GT-R, based on the 2014 model year, was tailored to Bolt's driving preferences using data gathered during his test drive of the GT-R lineup at Nissan's headquarters in October 2012. This uniquely gold-painted GT-R boasted a striking white interior, a BOSE® audio system, and 10-spoke RAYS® aluminum-alloy forged wheels with a hyper-titanium color coating. Bolt, personally involved in the design process, selected the visual specifications, including exterior and interior colors, as well as the wheels, which were further complemented by an exclusive "Spec Bolt" emblem.
